REPORT: City In Battle With PSG For Spanish Winger With £72m Release Clause

Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are both keen on signing Valencia winger Carlos Soler, according to reports in France.

The 22-year-old has two and a half years remaining on his contract at the Mestalla and is said to have a release clause of €80m (£72m).

PSG are believed to be ahead of City in the race for Soler currently. It is reported that meetings between the player’s representatives and the French club have been taking place since October.

The Ligue One side’s manager Thomas Tuchel is also said to have given his approval to signing the Spanish Under 21 international but, so far, there has been no agreement between Valencia and PSG over the player’s sale.

Soler generally plays on the right-hand side of midfield, although he can play more centrally as well. This campaign, he has made 24 appearances in all competitions for Valencia, scoring two goals and contributing five assists.
