REPORT: City Lining Up Summer Offer For 22 Year Old Ivorian Ace

Manchester City a weighing up a move for Lyon forward Maxwel Cornet next summer, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Ivorian international scored twice against the Citizens in the 2-2 draw on Tuesday night, and it seems he left a big impression on manager Pep Guardiola.

Cornet has been at Lyon since moving from Metz in 2015, and although not generally known for his goalscoring, his brace against City showed a player making big steps in his development.

The 22-year-old generally plays on the right wing, although he is also comfortable playing right across the front three. His flexibility would certainly be a characteristic that could work in his favour if the Manchester club do make their move at the end of the season.

Guardiola currently has three wide forwards in Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez to choose from, in addition to Bernardo Silva.

Adding Cornet to the mix would allow him even greater flexibility to rotate, as well as adding another option up front to provide competition for Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus.
