REPORT: City Now Favourites To Land 34M French Teenage Prodigy Ahead Of United And Chelsea

Manchester City are now leading the race to sign Metz midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, according to local journalist Jonathan Shrager.

The 18-year-old (who is reportedly valued at around £34m by his club) has been scouted by the Citizens, along with Manchester United and Chelsea, but Shrager claims Pep Guardiola’s side are the favourites to sign him currently:

Sarr only has one year of experience in professional football after arriving in France from his native Senegal in September last year. However, he has impressed many with his performances for Metz in Ligue One over the past twelve months.

Whether City see him as an option for the first team straight away, or they are targeting him as an investment for the future, we shall have to wait and see. With the transfer window closing at the end of the month, they don’t have long to get the deal over the line.
