Report Claims 80M Rated Defender Has ‘Made It Clear’ That He Is ‘Interested’ In Chelsea Switch Despite City Interest

Leicester City defender and Manchester City target Wesley Fofana has “made it clear” to the Foxes that he is “interested” in making a move to Chelsea, according to 90min.com.

Reports in the French media earlier this week had claimed that Pep Guardiola’s side and PSG were both keen on signing the 21-year-old but it seems his preferred destination is Stamford Bridge:

It should be noted that City’s interest in Fofana was probably dependent on one of their four main centre-backs leaving the club this summer.

Nathan Ake looked the closest to departing the Etihad, but the Dutch international now appears likely to stay. With that being the case, it is not at all surprising that City cooled their interest in Fofana, and that has paved the way for Chelsea to make their own move.

The Frenchman is expected to cost an eye-watering amount, with Leicester said to be holding out for their £80m asking price.
