REPORT: In Form Manchester City Playmaker To Be Rewarded With New Long Term Deal

Manchester City are keen on extending midfielder Bernardo Silva’s contract with the club, according to the Sun.

The Portuguese international only moved to the Etihad Stadium from Monaco for €50m 18 months ago, but his excellent form has prompted the Citizens to offer improved terms.

Silva has played in a more central role this campaign, alongside namesake David, and has scored five goals and provided four assists in 17 appearances.

His current deal still has three and half years left remaining but City are keen to reward the 24-year-old’s good performances with an increase to his £80k a week wages.

Silva won’t play against West Ham this afternoon after manager Pep Guardiola confirmed yesterday that he suffered a knock when on international duty with Portugal last week.

However, the Spaniard did say that the attacking midfielder could be in line to return when City face Lyon in the Champions League clash on Tuesday night.
