Report Suggests That Barcelona ‘Would Listen’ To Offers For City Target

Barcelona “would listen” to offers for Manchester City target Sergi Roberto, according to Mundo Deportivo. The Catalan publication claims that Barca did receive an offer from the Citizens and one other team a couple of months ago but they turned down the approach.

Following Ronald Koeman’s arrival as manager, Roberto’s future is far less certain with the new head coach classing him as a midfielder, rather than a fullback. With so much competition for places in the middle of the park, the 28-year-old could be deemed surplus to requirements.

At this moment in time, though, it is not clear whether City are still interested in the player, or whether manager Pep Guardiola has moved on to other targets.

Roberto’s flexibility would no doubt have been a major draw for Guardiola and if the Spaniard is now available for transfer, he may encourage his club to return to Barca with another bid.
