Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has revealed that Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is the toughest opponent he has faced in professional football.
The Argentinian legend has been the scourge of Premier League defences since he arrived at the Etihad in 2011, and has written his name into the club’s history books as a result.
Supporters on Twitter were backing van Dijk’s comments on Aguero, with fans in no doubt about the 31-year-old’s talent and quality:

It is remarkable that the City striker has never been named PFA Player of the Year, considering his contributions to the Citizens over the past eight years,
Aguero has scored an incredible 233 goals in 340 appearances for the club, and he shows no signs of slowing down, having already bagged two goals in his first two league games this campaign.
He has two years remaining on his current deal at City, and it will be a sad day for supporters when he eventually decides to leave Manchester.
