Manchester City have “beaten” a whole host of Premier League teams to the signature of Sheffield United midfielder Kylan Midwood, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist claims the Citizens have seen off the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Leeds and Newcastle to snap up the 14-year-old:

Despite his age, Midwood has already played for the Blades’ Under 18s, and he even got on the scoresheet during a 5-1 win against Birmingham City last month. He has also been called up for England’s Under 15s.
City are keen on recruiting the very best young players in the country. Sheffield United’s academy has a very strong track record, with City’s own Kyle Walker coming through the ranks before he was signed by Tottenham.
A couple of Walker’s England teammates, Aaron Ramsdale and Harry Maguire, also honed their skills at United’s academy so it will be hoped that Midwood possesses the same level of talent.
