Romano Reveals Arsenal Are Lining Up “Opening Bid” For City Star With Asking Price Having Been Set

Arsenal are preparing an “opening bid” for Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Brazilian international has been heavily linked with a switch to the Emirates in recent weeks but Romano claims that the Citizens won’t be letting him leave on the cheap, with a valuation set at around the €50m (£42.5m) to €60m (£51m) mark:

It does seem as if City have now made a decision to sell Jesus. You don’t usually slap a price tag on a player if you are not willing to sell them and it must be said that the striker’s contract situation means they don’t really have much of a choice.

There has been no indication that an extension will be agreed with the Brazilian, and it’s clear that the club are unwilling to let him leave on a free transfer when his current deal expires next year. With Arsenal seemingly very interested, a move looks to be on the cards.
