‘I Am Very Happy’ Manchester City Superstar Expresses Delight On New Sky Blues Transfer

Manchester City star Ruben Dias has had plenty of nice things to say about their latest signing, Matheus Nunes, in a recent interview [via Football Daily on Twitter].

Dias, who is an international compatriot of Nunes’ for Portugal, said that he was ‘very happy’ that the former Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder had chosen to join the Citizens in the summer transfer window.

He praised the Sky Blues’ hierarchy for being able to get the deal over the line on transfer deadline day, saying that City is ‘one of the best teams in the world.’

What did Ruben Dias say about the arrival of Matheus Nunes?

In the interview, Dias said: “I am very happy [for Matheus Nunes]. I think all Portuguese are also happy for another Portuguese player joining Manchester City. Obviously, currently it is one of the best teams in the world.

“So, I as a Portuguese and as his teammate and above all, as I said, as a Portuguese, I feel very [happy] that another [Portuguese player] has the opportunity to be in this position.”

Will Matheus Nunes prove to be a good signing for Manchester City?

As far as we can see, there is no reason why Mathues Nunes cannot be a roaring success at Manchester City. He is a supremely talented midfielder – even if we perhaps did not see the best of him during his time at Wolves.

He should be an excellent replacement for the departed Ilkay Gundogan, after he left the club upon the expiration of his contract to join Barcelona on a free transfer. He carries the ball forward well and works incredibly hard – these were two of the German international’s strongest attributes.

Some may question the price tag that Wolves slapped on the Portuguese international – all in all, it costed the Citizens a total of £53 million to secure Nunes’ services.

However, we would urge fans to keep in mind that Nunes is just 25 years of age – he is fast approaching his prime years and could be a star player for years to come.

Last season, he made 36 appearances in the Premier League for Wolves, scoring a single goal along the way. These aren’t inspiring numbers – but we will have to see what he can do with a superior group of players around him.
