Rummennigge Speaks Out On Alaba’s Future As He Makes Statement On City/Bayern Swap Deal Claim

Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has dismissed reports that left-back David Alaba will move to Manchester City in exchange for Leroy Sane.

Both players have just one year left on their contracts, and a decision will need to be made on their futures at the end of the season, but Rummenigge has rubbished claims that a deal is in place with City:

“I’ve heard rumours are circulating that we would like to hand David Alaba over to Manchester City in exchange for Leroy Sane”

“In addition, I say very clearly: This is Grimm’s Fairy Tale and has nothing to do with reality. I would like to say very clearly that this is not an option for Bayern at all, we are not in the bazaar.”

Alaba has been linked with both City and Chelsea in recent months, although there are suggestions that the Austrian international would prefer a move to Spain.

Sane’s future is also up in the air, with the German having failed to agree terms on a new deal with the Citizens despite closing in on the final twelve of his contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Bayern have been vocal in their interest in signing the 24-year-old, but as things stand, it appears nothing has been decided in regards to the two players’ futures.
