Sanchez set to reject PSG for City transfer

Manchester City look set to beat Paris Saint-Germain to the signing of Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.

Sanchez is able to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. But it is understood that the Chilean will turn down a huge offer from PSG in order to secure a move to Manchester City, and a reunion with former manager Pep Guardiola who worked with Sanchez at Barca.

City failed to secure a deal for Sanchez in the summer, offering Arsenal up to £60m for his services on deadline day only for the deal to fall through. But it is believed they have not ended their interest in the forward, and will look at signing him for nothing next summer.

Sanchez may be available for around £25m in the January transfer window, but it has been reported that Guardiola would rather sign the player next summer, with him being concerned about unsettling the dressing room.

City have been rampant so far this season, looking like they could be capable of winning it all. A further marquee signing such as Sanchez would really send shivers down their rival’s spines – but it would be a huge loss to Arsenal.
