Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan put in a man of the match performance as the Citizens secured a convincing victory over Chelsea yesterday evening.
The German international opened the scoring in the first half and was an influential figure in the middle of the pitch as they played their opponents off the park.
Gundogan has not always been a favourite among City supporters but fans on Twitter were full of praise for his display at Stamford Bridge last night:

The 30-year-old really stepped up to the plate yesterday. With so many players sidelined due to the virus outbreak in the City camp, manager Pep Guardiola was reliant on a limited group of senior players.
Every single one of them performed at their top level but Gundogan was probably the pick of the bunch, leading by example, dominating the midfield and keeping control of the game for the majority of the 90 minutes.
