Manchester City are now involved in the battle to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to reports in the Italian media.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid have all been linked with the Serbian international in recent weeks, but City’s interest is new.

With negotiations for Harry Kane dragging on, many supporters on Twitter believe that Vlahovic would be an excellent alternative if a move for the England captain doesn’t work out:

Vlahovic scored 21 goals in all competitions last season, and at 21 years of age, he does have room to develop his game even further, which makes him a very attractive option.

Fiorentina are thought to be demanding around €60m (£51m) for the Serbian which is significantly less than what Spurs are asking for Kane. It would still be a risk, though, considering the forward has only had one season under his belt where he has scored on a consistent basis.
