Manchester City are one of five English clubs keeping tabs on Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Kai Havertz, according to Sport1.
The German TV station reports that Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are also interested in the 20-year-old, along with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Some fans on Twitter believe Havertz could fill the void left by David Silva when the Spaniard leaves the Etihad Stadium next summer:

While other supporters are not convinced that City would actually need the German international:
Buy him and play where? And who to sell?

Foden will be delighted ?

With Phil Foden’s emergence, it would be a surprise if the club did decide to make a move for a player who could play in a similar position.
There’s no doubting Havertz’s talent with the midfielder having hit 20 goals for Leverkusen last season, but he certainly wouldn’t be a priority.
Considering he reportedly has an asking price of £100m (£91m), it seems questionable whether City would be willing to break their transfer record for the player.
