Sky Sports Pundit Predicts The Outcome Of City’s Clash Against West Ham

Charlie Nicholas expects Manchester City to come out convincing winners against West Ham on Sunday, but he is questioning some of the decisions manager Pep Guardiola has been making this season.

The Sky Sports pundit does not think Fernandinho should be used as a defender, and he believes their defensive issues, combined with a number of players being off form, has culminated in a very disappointing season for the Citizens so far. However, he still thinks they will have enough to see off the Hammers:

“Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero are pitching in with the performances at the moment, but dare I say it Pep has got it wrong. Fernandinho is just not a centre-back. I would love to see how Fernandinho is in front of John Stones.”

“It is so typical of West Ham at the moment that they occasionally turn up, put in a performance for 25 minutes, but if they lose a goal then it is game over. It is not a happy time but David Moyes will have to dig in.”

Nicholas has gone for a 4-0 win for City at the Etihad this weekend. It is not a surprising prediction considering their opponents have been shipping goals recently. David Moyes was brought in to stop the rot, but in the club’s last four games, they have conceded ten goals.

City will need to be wary of the likes of new signing Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio, who will be a threat on the counterattack, but as Nicholas says, they have the quality to win this one comfortably.
