Spanish Giants ‘Made Contact’ About Signing Wantaway City Striker

Atletico Madrid have “made contact” with Manchester City about signing Gabriel Jesus, according to TEAMtalk.

The website reports the Brazilian is keen to move from the Etihad this summer in order to get more first-team football.

Atletico are set to sell Antoine Griezmann, with Barcelona the Frenchman’s likely destination, and they want Jesus to replace him at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

The La Liga side are not the only team who are said to be following the 22-year-old, with Paris Saint-Germain also believed to be keen on the forward.

Kylian Mbappe has recently made statements that put a question mark over his long-term future at PSG, and the French club see Jesus as an ideal replacement if they did lose their prized asset.

The City striker did struggle for game time under manager Pep Guardiola in the second half of last season. He made just two starts in the Premier League against Wolves and Cardiff after January but he still managed to score 21 goals in all competitions.
