Spanish Giants Ready To Swoop In For Out Of Contract City Starlet

Real Madrid will look to sign Manchester City midfielder Brahim Diaz at the end of the season, according to reports in Spain.

The 19-year-old’s current deal at the Etihad Stadium expires in the summer, and it doesn’t look likely that he’ll renew his contract with the Citizens.

Diaz moved to Manchester from Malaga’s youth academy in 2013 and has made 14 appearances for the senior team since his debut against Swansea City in the EFL Cup back in 2016.

Manager Pep Guardiola gave him a number of appearances off the bench last season, while this campaign he was given a start against Fulham in the Carabao Cup.

The Spanish Under 21 international took full advantage of his opportunity by scoring a brace against the Cottagers. However, first-team opportunities have been thin on the ground for league games.

Diaz has not been selected in a matchday squad in either the Premier League or the Champions League this campaign. With the lack of game time, and his contract expiring, the expectation is that he’ll leave City at the end of the season.
