Spanish Giants Waiting In The Wings If City Fail To Agree New Deal With Sterling

Real Madrid are monitoring Raheem Sterling’s contract negotiations with Manchester City, according to reports.

The  23-year-old signed a five-year contract when he joined from Liverpool in 2015, and he has 20 months left to run on that deal.

Both the player and City are reportedly keen to come to an agreement, but there has been no progress so far towards extending his stay at the Etihad Stadium beyond 2020.

Manager Pep Guardiola is a massive fan of Sterling, and back in August, he spoke out about his desire to see the winger commit his long-term future to the Manchester club.

The England international has continued his excellent form from last season, scoring four goals and providing three assists in ten matches so far this campaign.

He reached 150 appearances for the Citizens in the 0-0 draw against Liverpool at the weekend before he was substituted for Leroy Sane with 15 minutes to go in the match.
