Stuart Brennan Claims City “Would Drop Everything And Move” If One Of Two Players Becomes Available In January

Manchester City will wait for their opportunity to sign either Erling Haaland or Harry Kane, according to Manchester Evening News‘s Chief City correspondent Stuart Brennan.

While there is no suggestion at this stage that either player will be sold in the January transfer window, Brennan says the Citizens “would drop everything and move” if one of the two players becomes available:

Kane has struggled for form at Tottenham this season and will turn 29 in the summer so he would surely be the least desirable of the two options being considered.

Haaland, meanwhile, has a £64m release clause that comes into effect at the end of the season and it’s likely that City would be keen to wait before making an offer for the Norwegian international.

Of course, that would also give other clubs (such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United) the chance to snap up the 21-year-old as well, but it appears that the Premier League champions will be patient in their search for a new forward.
