“That’s How Good They Are….” Souness Makes Prediction About Who Will Win The Premier League

Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness firmly believes Manchester City will win the Premier League title this season.

Arsenal look to be Pep Guardiola’s side’s closest rivals at the top of the table but, when asked if he classed the Gunners as genuine challengers, Souness said that they would only be in contention if City suffer an injury crisis:

“They will only be challengers if City have an absolute nightmare run with injuries, and I think that applies to everybody else behind City. People are playing for second place as long as City don’t have a disaster with injuries. That’s how good they are.”

It’s a very confident prediction from Souness and one that is completely justified based on the exceptional performances that Guardiola’s men have put in during the first couple of months of the season.

Usually, every team goes through a poor patch of form over the course of a campaign but, with the firepower at City’s disposal, it’s hard to imagine that will happen.

The arrival of Erling Haaland at the club has seemingly pushed the Citizens up another level, and it’s difficult to see anyone stopping them, barring (as Souness says) extenuating circumstances.
