A goalkeeper who was more well-known for his eccentric character than the saves he made, the German was still part of the famous ‘Invincibles’ team that went unbeaten during the 2003/04 season.
Lehmann did have the occasional mistake in him, most notably the one he made in the Champions League final in 2006 which got him sent off early in the game against Barcelona. He was still named Champions League Goalkeeper of the Year, though, and went on to be the club’s number one for another season.
