‘The Kid Has Potential’ ‘He Is A Brilliant Player’ Fans Excited As City Join Liverpool And Chelsea In Race For Nigerian

Manchester City have joined the battle to sign Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze, according to reports in the Spanish media.

Chelsea have been mentioned as a possible destination in recent days while the Nigerian has also been on Liverpool‘s radar for quite a while.

With City needing to find a replacement for Leroy Sane, Chukwueze would certainly be an interesting choice, and supporters on Twitter are pretty enthusiastic about the possibility of the 21-year-old moving to the Etihad:

Chukwueze definitely has speed to burn which makes him a good fit to replace Sane but with a release clause of €63m (£57m), the Nigerian international won’t come cheap.

Unlike another reported transfer target, Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey, the Villarreal winger generally plays from the right flank, but he is naturally left-footed which would make City’s pursuit of him seem logical.

Chukwueze’s stats for this campaign are not that impressive, though, having scored four goals and provided four assists in 30 appearances.
