The Six Strikers Who Have Scored The Most Hat Tricks In Premier League History

Strikers love to hit the back of the net but some are greedier than others. The best way to tell which players live to score goals is by looking at how many hat-tricks they have bagged in their career.

Taking home the match ball is a tradition in English football which goes back decades and there are some forwards over the past 30 years who have certainly taken home their fair share.

None of the names on this list are a surprise but there are a couple who are still playing, who could well go on to create their own records in this area.

Press the next page as we count down the strikers who have scored the most hat-tricks in the Premier League era.

Joint 4) Thierry Henry, Harry Kane and Michael Owen (8)

These three strikers couldn’t be more different in their style of play but they have managed to bag themselves a significant number of hat tricks during their time in the English top flight.

Kane could still go on to score a fair few more, and it is testament to the Spurs star’s finishing ability that he has already matched an Arsenal legend as well as Owen, whose lightning speed allowed him to ghost past opposition defence in the late 90s to early 00s. Henry, in contrast, was more of an all-rounder whose flair stood out, scoring just as many spectacular goals as tap-ins.

3) Robbie Fowler (9)

He wasn’t labelled “God” by Liverpool supporters for nothing. He scored a glut of goals when he first burst onto the scene at Anfield in the mid-90s, and while his form and fitness waned as he moved to other teams such as Leeds and City, his natural finishing ability never left him.

Fowler could have perhaps gone on to greater heights were he to have stayed fit for a longer period but his early career success is enough to make them one of the best strikers in England over the past three decades.

2) Alan Shearer (11)

As he is the league’s all-time leading goalscorer, it is not a surprise that the former England captain ranks highly on this list. Considering he spent most of his career at Newcastle, where he wasn’t always given the service he needed, it is an even more impressive stat.

Shearer could be described as a complete striker, lethal with his finishing both in and outside of the penalty box and equally capable of scoring with his feet or headed goals.

1) Sergio Aguero (12)

The Manchester City legend has a quite astonishing record when it comes to scoring hat-tricks and at 32 years of age, he is not finished yet. The Argentine could well rack up a number which won’t be matched for years to come.

Aguero’s consistency in front of goal is remarkable, having reached the 20 league goal milestone in six of the past nine seasons.
