Some may be surprised to see the Belgian in the top five, above someone like Tottenham’s Harry Kane, considering he hasn’t had the best season.
Of course, even a slightly off-colour De Bruyne is still better than 95% of the players in the Premier League, and he has looked impressive in specific matches, such as in the 4-1 win over Liverpool.
Whether the City star will get his third award in four years, though, it is doubtful at the moment, unless he catches fire in the final few weeks of the campaign.
