Although the Egyptian’s base salary is believed to be £350,000 a week, it is said that he will likely reach £400,000 a week if he manages to trigger a number of performance-related bonuses.
Salah is now, by some distance, the highest earner in Liverpool’s history and it will be interesting to see how he performs over the next few years. As we have seen with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in the past, a player’s performance has been known to suffer after a bumper pay deal.
