“There’s No Stopping Them…” Trent Alexander-Arnold Makes Emphatic Premier League Title Prediction

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold says he is backing Manchester City to win the Premier League.

The Citizens are two points clear of Arsenal at the top of the table, having played a game less than their title rivals, and Alexander-Arnold thinks “there’s no stopping” Pep Guardiola’s side clinching their third consecutive crown:

“The league is obvious now and I’ve said it for a while. If City are even anywhere close, if they smell blood at Christmas, New Year – it’s game over really. There’s no stopping them once they start winning and, now at this point, I’d be surprised if they drew a game.”

“I think it’s got to be a mindset because they don’t even go behind in games at this point. There’s no messing around, there’s no scares, there’s no ups and downs. Arsenal were exciting because, they were dropping points, but in an exciting way. Whereas City, I don’t even know how to describe it, they are like juggernauts.”

Whether City will be able to win all of their remaining matches, like Alexander-Arnold says, we shall have to wait and see. After facing Leeds, they will play Everton away, Chelsea at home, before finishing with two matches away at Brighton and Brentford.

Some of those games on the road, in particular, could prove to be potential banana skins. However, it is important to point out that the reigning champions don’t need to be perfect during the run-in.

The Gunners can only reach 90 points and, with City’s superior goal difference, it means they require just 8 points from their final four fixtures, if they secure victory versus Leeds.
