“This One Could Get Exciting….” Journalist Claims City Could Still Hijack PL Rival’s Move For £65M Rated Midfielder

Manchester City’s interest in Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is “very real”, according to GiveMeSport reporter Dean Jones.

Reliable sources have claimed that Liverpool are in pole position to snap up the Argentinian international, with Manchester United and Chelsea also in the mix, but Jones believes City could decide to get involved:

“This one could get exciting. The interest in him is very real and insiders have suggested to GMS that if Brighton sell one player this summer it could well be him. He is adaptable, he’s very smart, and there is a feeling he could be getable at £65-70million.”

Reports about Mac Allister being a target for the Premier League champions first emerged in late February and it has also been suggested that manager Pep Guardiola has held direct talks with the player.

The links do appear to be genuine but the question is, will City go ahead and make a formal approach for the 24-year-old?

With captain Ilkay Gundogan destined to leave on a free transfer, and doubts over the futures of Kalvin Phillips and Bernardo Silva, the Manchester club are likely to be in the market for a midfielder so we shall see if Mac Allister ends up moving to the Etihad.
