Manchester City are stepping up their plans to sign Valencia winger Ferran Torres, according to reports in the Spanish media.
The 20-year-old, who has also been linked with Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea, is expected to be available this summer with the player’s contract set to expire next year.
It is thought that City are targeting Torres as their main priority to replace Leroy Sane, and fans on Twitter are very much behind the move going ahead:
This will be a brillant signing. Can play on the left or right too

This is the only winger in the world that makes me excited. I hope we buy him.

Torres reportedly has a €100m (£90m) release clause but, due to his contract situation, Valencia are expected to sell him for considerably less.
The Spaniard has played most of his football as a right-winger this season, but he is equally comfortable playing on the left-hand side.
Torres’s record this campaign, though, isn’t particularly impressive, having scored six goals and provided seven assists in 41 appearances, but he has the potential to grow into a top-class player.
