Manchester City trio Ederson, Ruben Dias and Kevin De Bruyne have been nominated for the UEFA Champions League awards.

Despite losing in the final to Chelsea, all three players were outstanding throughout the competition and are deservingly in contention for individual recognition.

Ederson was named alongside Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy and Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois for the Goalkeeper of the Season accolade.

Dias will be going up against Chelsea duo Cesar Azpilicueta and Antonio Rudiger for the Defender of the Season prize, while De Bruyne is batting Chelsea’s Jorginho and N’Golo Kante for the Midfielder of the Season.

No Premier League player has received a nomination in the Forward of the Season category, with Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe, Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski competing for the award.

The winners will be announced on Thursday 26th August when the draw for the 2021/22 Champions League group stage is made.
