Ex-Chelsea captain John Terry is backing Manchester City to retain the Premier League title this season.

Pep Guardiola’s side are the favourites heading into the campaign, and Terry believes the addition of striker Erling Haaland will prove pivotal in finishing top:

“Man City are too good in my opinion. Haaland will be huge for them.”

Haaland will undoubtedly be key to how the Citizens perform, especially as the likes of Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus won’t be around to contribute in terms of goals.

There will, of course, be an adaptation period. City have effectively played without an out-and-out number nine for a whole year, while Haaland will need to tailor his game in order to fit into Guardiola’s style of play.

However, Terry clearly feels that the Norwegian international won’t have many problems settling in at the Etihad. If he does have a successful season in front of goal, it’s more than likely that the Manchester club will finish above the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and United.
