Manchester United have joined Manchester City in the battle to sign Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to Telefoot.

The French TV programme report that United and City are two of the four teams keeping tabs on the Frenchman, with Real Madrid and Juventus also keen on the 21-year-old.

Lyon are said to be weighing up selling Ndombele at the end of the season, with the Ligue One club believed to be holding out for between €60m (£53m) and €80m (£71m).

The France international has impressed in both Champions League group games against City with manager Pep Guardiola singling out the midfielder for praise.

This campaign, Ndombele has started all but one game for Lyon, making 20 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing four assists.

He joined Lyon permanently in the summer for just €8m after spending the whole of last season on loan at the club from Amiens.
