Walker And Sterling In, Cancelo And Gundogan Dropped: Manchester City’s Predicted XI To Face Wolves

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that John Stones will be back after the international break, but Fernandinho’s assured displays in the backline mean there is less concern about the team’s fragility at the back.

Joao Cancelo made his second start of the season against Dinamo but Guardiola has suggested that the Portuguese international is still not quite up to speed yet so Kyle Walker will likely come back into the team to face Wolves.

In midfield, Kevin De Bruyne remains out of contention so City could move Bernardo Silva more centrally to offer another creative option in the middle, alongside David Silva and Rodri.

That would allow Raheem Sterling to come back into the side on the left-wing, with in-form Riyad Mahrez keeping his place on the right flank. Gabriel Jesus may get the nod ahead of Sergio Aguero up front although this decision is very much 50/50 with Guardiola having rotated the pair recently.

Manchester City’s Predicted XI To Face Wolves:

Ederson, Walker, Otamendi, Fernandinho, Mendy, Bernardo Silva, Rodri, David Silva, Mahrez, Aguero, Sterling
