Manchester City have been given a pretty straightforward group in the Champions League. They have drawn Shakhtar Donetsk, Dinamo Zagreb and Atalanta.
The Citizens managed to avoid the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in pot 2, and now look favourites to qualify top of their group. Fans on Twitter were very happy with the draw:
We got pretty lucky

at least we'll be able to rotate the squad a lot but I hate easy groups… always makes us complacent

Heading to Ukraine and Croatia for tough away trips will be the biggest challenge City will have to face in the group stages. Pep Guardiola’s side actually lost the last time they played Shakhtar away, although they fielded a much-changed side.
Atalanta did finish third in Serie A last season but it is their first time in the competition. The Italian side will also have to play their home matches at the San Siro with their current home ground the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia unable to host European games as it doesn’t meet UEFA regulations.
