The Guardian journalist Fabrizio Romano says there are “huge chances” that Erling Haaland will leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.
Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool are all believed to be interested in the Norwegian international but Romano said on his Here We Go’ podcast that “nothing is advanced” with any club at this stage.
With club legend Sergio Aguero looking increasingly likely that he’ll leave the Etihad Stadium when his contract expires in the summer, a replacement will be required, and fans on Twitter have called on the club to get Haaland:
PLZ GET HIM. ITS A NO BRAINER FFS WE HAVE TO GO ALL OUT FOR HIM

Dear @ManCity,
Make this happen. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity which will bring in a future Ballon D’or winner and top scorer for another 10+ years. Pay whatever they want for him.
Sincerely, City fanbase

I think Fabrizio previously said there was a block on this, so seems like some progress in recent weeks. If we don’t get him, I’m sure we’ll get another great option, but we can’t lose out on him to Chelsea, surely? I think City are the most appealing project in Europe atm.

@HHMansoor @OmarBerrada @ManCity @PepTeam get him please

The fact that the 20-year-old’s €75m release clause can only be activated in 2022 will complicate matters and it may mean that City will have to break their transfer record to get their man.
Haaland does, though, appear to be the perfect candidate as the club look to find a long-term successor for Aguero.
