Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola wants Leicester City’s Harry Maguire to replace Vincent Kompany, according to reports in the UK.
The City captain has joined Anderlecht as their player-manager and he will need to be replaced ahead of next season.
Maguire is said to be Guardiola’s first choice but supporters on Twitter are not sure he would be the right fit:
Sorry but he is not quick enough, not really good at defense transition, that can cost us

Leicester are reportedly reluctant to sell Maguire. The Foxes are tough negotiators and sold Riyad Mahrez to City for £60m last summer.
It is believed that they may demand in excess of the £75m Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk, breaking the world record for a defender.
Manchester United are also long-term admirers of Maguire but it appears City are prepared to hijack the deal.
Guardiola likes to have a left-footed centre-half in the side and Maguire would likely be rotated with Aymeric Laporte who was a standout performer during the treble-winning season.
