Manchester City winger Leroy Sane has rejected speculation that he could move to rivals Manchester United in the future.
Bookmakers had slashed the odds of the German international moving across the City but when asked about the possibility of making the switch to Old Trafford, the wide man was emphatic in his denial:
“That won’t happen! That won’t happen at all. I am really happy here and I’m on the right side!”
Fans on Twitter are delighted by Sane’s response:
Well said leroy

Lol, no offensive player in their rt mind would ever want to sign with United while Jose is still there. All suitors turned them down last summer but Fred, how'd that work for him. And Sanchez knows he made a huge mistake unless Jose goes.

Why would he want to sign for a mid table team?

As if we would sell one of our star players to our biggest rivals ?

That would be the greatest mistake he's ever done , Sanchez's performance and game time is reason enough for him not to go to Man Utd

The 22-year-old has certainly stoked the flames for the upcoming Manchester derby with his response to the question. The midfielder was superb against Southampton at the weekend and could be in line to start against United on Sunday.
With Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling also in good form, there is some fierce competition for a place on the wings. Manager Pep Guardiola has some great options if he needs to rotate things, with the likes of Brahim Diaz also showing in the recent Carabao Cup win against Fulham that he is ready for first-team action.
