Manchester City are open to selling Raheem Sterling to Chelsea for around £45m, according to CBS Sports reports Ben Jacobs.
While the England international hasn’t made a final decision on whether to leave the Etihad, he is believed to be interested in making the switch to Thomas Tuchel’s side, and it appears that City may reduce their £60m asking price too:
#CFC & #MCFC are also significantly apart on a fee. Man City ideally want close to £60 million. But sources close to the club admit they may settle for a similar fee to Gabriel Jesus. That would put Sterling on the market for around £45 million with add ons on top.

Supporters on Twitter are not happy that their club may lower their demands for Sterling, especially as he could well be joining a rival Premier League team:
What a joke the fee should be 60 mill 😡

He would be getting more minutes if he was consistent but spat out his dummy because he was rightfully benched, yes he needs more game time for the world cup coming up and wants more pay which Chelsea can offer but is giving up trophies.

It’s a difficult situation that City find themselves in. Sterling doesn’t seem willing to sign a contract extension, and there are no clubs abroad who could match their valuation.
With that being the case, the Premier League champions can either let him leave on a free transfer next year or sell him to Chelsea now. It looks as if they have decided on the latter option.
