Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has stated that he wants to stay at the Etihad Stadium beyond the end of his contract in the summer.
Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font has expressed his desire to bring back the Spaniard to the La Liga side if he is elected, but Guardiola says he is looking to prove himself this campaign in order to win himself a new deal at his current team:
“I’m incredibly happy here at Manchester City and hopefully I can do a good job this season to stay longer!”
Supporters were unsurprisingly delighted with Guardiola’s commitment to the club but some are still concerned that the City boss has not yet signed on the dotted line to extend his stay in England:

Needs to stay as long as possible because whoever arrives next will be not even close to his level .

A champions league this season would be the icing on the cake for what Pep had given to this club. We need to uplift and support this club no matter our league form. Remember that the Champions league is our ultimate goal and there’s no one better than Pep to bring us there

Pep's basically saying to the players if you show me you want to win and fight I'll stay if not I'm off.

Guardiola has always been consistent in his message regarding his future, but there has always been the caveat that he may look to leave Manchester if he feels he isn’t the man to take the club forward. Fans will be hoping that winning another Premier League title will give him the encouragement he needs to put pen to paper on a new deal.
