Manchester City are now optimistic that Bernardo Silva will sign a contract extension following talks with the player’s representatives, according to reports in England.
The Portuguese international was keen on leaving the Etihad Stadium in the summer but he has been in superb form this campaign, becoming a key player for manager Pep Guardiola once again.

Silva’s performances this season have been outstanding. His eight goals and two assists in 29 appearances don’t really tell the full story.
The 27-year-old has been integral to the team’s attacking play in the centre of the pitch, and some fans believe he is performing better than he did during the 2018/19 campaign.
Although that may be going too far, there is no doubt that Silva is a much more well-rounded player now and he is contributing hugely to City’s recent success.
