Pere Guardiola is now the favourite to become Manchester City target Gabri Veiga’s new agent, according to reports in England.

Guardiola is the brother of Pep and, if he does become the Spanish Under 21 international’s representative, it will greatly increase City’s chances of securing the playmaker’s signature this summer.

The Premier League champions, along with Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle and Manchester United have all been mentioned as potential destinations for Veiga in recent weeks, but fans on Twitter are now hopeful that he’ll end up at the Etihad:

Reports in the Spanish press have already claimed that City have tabled a lucrative contract offer to Veiga and a deal should be pretty straightforward due to the 20-year-old’s release clause.

The buyout fee is said to be only worth €40m (£35m) and he is currently unlikely to sign a new deal with Celta that would increase that figure. Considering his talent, he could well turn out to be a bargain.
