Manchester City are considering whether to make an offer for AC Milan star Rafael Leao this summer, according to reports in the Spanish media.
The pacey Portuguese winger is closing in on the final twelve months of his contract at the San Siro and he has been heavily linked with Chelsea.
However, there is now a chance that City (who do have a longstanding interest in the player) may make a move of their own at the end of the season. Supporters on Twitter are very much split on whether that is a good idea:
Bring him home please…. that will be the best day of my life

I really think leao doesn't fit our style. That's the truth
He's fast…and really good but for most times these teams have 11 players in the box. We need a winger who can also operate im tight spaces
Someone like mitoma..chiesa..kvara..sane

He has a year left on his contract at the end of the season this one should be straight forward if the player wants to leave Milan

Since the departures of Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus, City have lacked pace out wide and Leao’s speed and acceleration would make him an ideal addition to fill the void.
However, the 23-year-old’s situation is complicated. After losing a legal battle with former club Sporting Lisbon, he owes them the best part of โฌ20m. He would reportedly like Milan or a prospective bidder to pay that off for him as part of a lucrative new contract. Whether City would agree to such a request, though, we shall have to wait and see.
