Chelsea Hold Talks With Croatian Star’s Agent, Weeks After Reports Suggested That City Had 68M Bid Rejected

Chelsea have held talks with the agent of Manchester City target Josko Gvardiol, according to the Daily Mail.

Pep Guardiola’s side reportedly had an €80m (£68m) offer turned down by RB Leipzig for the Croatian international at the start of this month but it appears that their Premier League rivals believe they will have more luck.

Discussions between Chelsea and Gvardiol’s representative, Marjan Sisic, are said to have taken place recently, but persuading the player is not thought to be the issue.

As City found out, Leipzig are not interested in selling the 20-year-old this summer and, unless a team tables an exorbitant bid, it looks as though the defender will be staying in Germany for now.

After securing the signature of left-back Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht, it is believed that City’s transfer business for the summer could be finished, although a lot could still happen between now and August 31st.
