City Ace Leads List Of Europe’s Top FIVE Most Valuable Forwards

CIES Football Observatory recently released their bi-annual list of the players with the highest estimated transfer value in the top five European leagues.

This week, we will be listing their highest-valued forwards, based on the algorithm they use which takes into account eight different variables.

Age, contract length, recent performances, career progression, international status, inflation, as well as the sporting and economic level of their clubs are all considered.

Press the next page as we go through the top five most valuable forwards.

5) Joao Felix (Atletico Madrid – €127.8m)

The Portuguese international actually had to take a backseat to Luis Suarez in the goalscoring stakes as Atletico beat Real Madrid and Barcelona to the La Liga title.

Felix is, though, only 21 years of age and many believe he will go on to make a name himself in the coming years due to the talent he possesses.

4) Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund – €155.5m)

The Norwegian international’s goalscoring record is quite astonishing. Since moving to the Bundesliga eighteen months ago, the forward has pretty much averaged a goal per game.

Haaland hit the back of the net 41 times in all competitions last campaign, and he is expected to be the subject of a fierce transfer battle among Europe’s elite clubs.

3) Marcus Rashford (Manchester United – €159.1m)

The 23-year-old has become just as well known for his campaigning away from the pitch, as well as his performances for United over the past year or so. However, he is still recording some outstanding stats.

Despite the fact that Rashford mostly plays in wide areas, the England international still racked up 21 goals and 15 assists for his club, and he is likely to continue being a key player for the Red Devils.

2) Mason Greenwood (Manchester United – €170m)

The United striker’s rise has been rapid but it is still a surprise to see him valued so highly considering that he scored seven fewer goals last season compared to the 2019/20 campaign.

Even so, Greenwood is a player with huge potential. He has excellent finishing ability, especially with his left foot and, at 19 years of age, he has scope to develop his game further.

1) Phil Foden (Manchester City – €190.2m)

After being named PFA Young Player of the Year following a breakout season for City, the sky really is the limit for the 21-year-old. He is only likely to improve over the next 10 years.

That is a scary thought considering Foden scored 16 goals and contributed 10 assists for the Citizens in all competitions last campaign. The midfielder is very much a generational talent.
