Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that his team “can lose” the chance to win titles if they don’t perform well over the next month.

However, speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the FA Cup tie against Luton, Guardiola said that his team’s mentality will help them pick up the points they need:

“Next month helps us to still have another month. It will define if we have another month to play for the titles. It doesn’t define anything”

“We can lose the titles yeah. But what happens if we win and win? Our mindset is not thinking about the worst scenarios. It’s thinking that at the same time you can control your mind to think it’s going to be bad, [you can also control that] it’s going to be well.”

Who are City playing over the next month?

The reigning Premier League champions have five fixtures between now and the international break at the end of March.

After facing Luton on Tuesday evening, they will take on Manchester United in the derby at the Etihad on Sunday. A few days later, the Cityzens play the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie against FC Copenhagen.

A trip to Anfield to play fellow title contenders Liverpool follows before they have another away game on the south coast against Brighton. It’s important to note that they do face Arsenal after the return to domestic action on March 31st as well.
