City Set To Revive Move For Arsenal Star Who Guardiola Spoke To Arteta About ‘During The World Cup’

Manchester City are expected to reignite their interest in Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney, according to FootballTransfers.com.

The website claims that manager Pep Guardiola originally spoke to Gunners boss Mikel Arteta about the player “during the World Cup” as he considered a January bid for the Scottish international.

With Joao Cancelo having moved to Bayern Munich on loan, City were keen to find a replacement, and Tierney was the target identified.

However, the approach was knocked back with Arsenal understandably reluctant to strengthen their title rivals midway through the season.

Whether they will be any more amenable this summer may depend on the Gunners’ need for additional cash to fund their own purchases.

FootballTransfers suggest that the London club’s interest in West Ham’s Declan Rice could lead to Tierney being sacrificed so they can finance a bid for the midfielder. Whether they will seriously consider doing that, we shall have to wait and see.
