Callum Wilson Predicts Whether City Or Arsenal Will Win The Premier League Title

Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson says he expects Manchester City to win the Premier League once again this season.

The England international thinks the title race is likely to be a repeat of last campaign, with the Citizens and Arsenal going head to head, but he feels that Pep Guardiola’s team possess the experience to get over the line:

“I think Man City will win the league. They have the know-how at the back end of the season when the time matters, they have the strength in depth and they have been in that position where they have chased, where they have been chased. I just think Pep and his guys at the minute are a difficult team to play against and people will be more fearful of playing City than Arsenal.”

The bookmakers are certainly in agreement with Wilson, with City odds on to make it six titles in seven seasons, but you do feel it could be another close-run thing.

Arsenal have improved their squad

The Gunners have certainly not let last campaign’s near miss dampen their spirits, as they have made some bold moves in the transfer market.

They have paid a club record fee for West Ham captain Declan Rice (who was also reportedly a City target), as well as signing the likes of Jurrien Timber, Kai Havertz and (soon) David Raya.

City have made their own additions

While Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez have both left the Etihad this summer, the treble winners haven’t been forced into a major rebuild as originally feared.

They have managed to keep hold of both Kyle Walker and Bernardo Silva (it seems), whilst strengthening the team with the additions of Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic. They are, therefore, in decent shape to mount a strong defence of their title.
