‘Get Him City’ ‘Baller But He Won’t Get The Game Time Here’ Fans React As Club Eye £51M Summer Swoop

Manchester City are interested in signing Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo, according to Fichajes.net.

The Japanese international is very highly rated and it is believed that the Cityzens may consider triggering the player’s €60m (£51m) release clause this summer.

Fans on X are backing City’s efforts to sign Kubo, although some don’t believe he would get a lot of game time if he does make the switch to the Etihad:

Another club has an option to sign Kubo

A number of Premier League teams, including Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham have been linked with the 22-year-old over the past six to twelve months.

However, City’s main rival for Kubo will be Real Madrid. The winger joined Real Sociedad from the 14-time Champions League winners and they do have a buyback clause which means they can re-sign him for just €30m (£26m).

Will City push ahead with a deal for the Japanese star?

It could be argued that the Premier League champions have enough wingers at the moment. Manager Pep Guardiola can call upon the likes of Jeremy Doku, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva.

Even so, Kubo is a very promising young player and the existence of the buyout fee may still tempt City into making an offer for him at the end of the season.
