‘Criminally Underrated’ ‘Makes Me Sick’ – Fans On Social Media Can’t Believe City Talisman’s Ballon d’Or Snub

Manchester City’s David Silva didn’t even make the top 30 for the Ballon d’Or this year, and many City fans are not happy with the judgement of the journalists who decided the award.

Real Madrid’s Luka Modric won the top prize while Kevin De Bruyne finished ninth and Sergio Aguero was 16th, but considering Pep Guardiola’s side finished on 100 points last campaign, the lack of City players angered many supporters.

Fans on Twitter made their feelings known about Silva’s exclusion:

The Spaniard’s ten goals and 14 assists last season don’t do justice to how influential he was in the Citizens’ Premier League title win, and he has continued his excellent form into this campaign.

With eight goals and four assists so far, Silva is well on course to surpass the twelve he scored for City in the 2014/15 season. At 32 years of age, the Spanish maestro is certainly showing no signs of slowing down.
