De Bruyne “Not Too Worried” About Liverpool’s Threat To City In Title Race

Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne believes the title race will be decided in the final weeks of the season.

Liverpool’s win against Manchester United yesterday meant they replaced City at the top of the Premier League, but the Belgian midfielder says the Citizens are not feeling the pressure from the Reds:

“I don’t know why they [Liverpool] can’t sustain it – I think they will go on to the end. To be fair I’m not too worried about them – they will do what they do and we’ll have to try to win our games and go forward.”

“They’ll try to keep pace with us and vice versa. But it’s still early. There’s no pressure, we need to do what we do.”

Although Liverpool remain unbeaten in the Premier League with 17 games gone, they are still only one point ahead of Pep Guardiola’s side.

With a busy Christmas period where the Merseysiders still have to face Arsenal before heading to the Etihad to take on City, a lot may change in the next couple of weeks.

The Manchester club Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Southampton in the league prior to the top of the table clash at the beginning of January. However, their most immediate concern will be facing the Foxes in the Carabao Cup, when they play their quarter-final tie tomorrow evening.
